Pamela Rodger has been a full time studio artist for over 40 years.
She attended the Fine Arts Dept. and Dept. of Education; University of Sask. Pamela has been in 5 extended residencies at the Banff Center of the Arts in Alberta. Pamela has been a recipient of numerous grants and awards. She was head of the university transfer ceramics program at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George, B.C. and an Out-Reach teacher for Emily Carr College of Arts in Vancouver, B.C. for 7 years.
In Bragg Creek Alberta, Pamela operated an art-craft gallery for 19 years and represented 26 artists. The sculptures, pottery, mosaic and paintings, from her busy studio, have been shown nationally and internationally.
She has been an independent curator and juror for public galleries + associations and served on a jury for the Calgary Stampede Board.
For the last 13 years she had chosen to sell her work at a community farmer’s market and 2 large Christmas art fairs.
For the last 6 years, Pamela has worked on a commissioned, large, permanent, mosaic installation,"Branded Patio + Artisan Gardens" at Bow Valley Ranche in Fish Creek, an Alberta Provincial Park in Calgary.
In 2017, Pamela + Bruce sold their home + her large studio in Bragg Creek. Pamela views her next studio decade to be rich in introspection and a return to the years of a creative nature that doesn't stretch to commercial fulfillment. Time is on Pamela's side now .
